tis maria!

(Maria makes a visit to the Big Apple from Norway!!)

Tisserie is almost comparable to a Boulangerie Patisserie, or a bread-ery/bakery, along the streets of Paris. They offer a variety of quiches, sandwiches, and pastries. It’s also located on the corner of Union Square West/North and is only a few steps away from The Republic.

After contemplating for awhile on what type of quiche I wanted to try, I decided on the spinach quiche. I was glad that it came warm (in Belgium it didn’t and it tasted terrible cold) but was disappointed. For close to $6 a slice, it was very average. Don’t get me wrong. It was good, but it wasn’t great. My friend, Maria as well as her friend, each ordered a sandwich that came in a toasted baguette with mozzarella, tomato, and pesto.  She said it was pretty good, but coming from norway, it was huge. Neither of them were able to finish.

The last time I came to Tisserie, it was for dessert. This isn’t exactly the most wallet friendly place. If it weren’t for its convenient location, I don’t think I would care much for it.  As for the restaurant itself, Tisserie is quite small, having a couple of seats downstairs and a few more upstairs. When we went, it just started picking up so it got crowded pretty fast.  The lighting is very dim and yellow, so sorry about the quality of the pictures!
