Bonne Bouche

One of the first things a friend said to me when I came to London was, “Don’t eat too many sandwiches, you’ll get sick of them after awhile.” True to her word, Londoners thrive on sandwiches. Convenient and cheap, they can be tailored to just about any taste. However, unlike the sandwiches in America, London sandwiches can come in regular white/whole wheat bread, or even baguettes.

Sandwiches

Bonne Bouche is one of the first “cheap-eats” places I found one afternoon while wandering around Marylebone. They sell their sandwiches in baguettes, and they start from 1.50 pounds. I had a tomato and mixed cheddar cheese baguette, which wasn’t anything too special but it only cost 1.65 pounds. They have quite an assortment of sandwiches and pastries. At lunch time, a line forms through the door and wraps outside around the corner.
