Britain is known for its Indian food and if you walk along Brick Lane, you’ll find tons of curry restaurants. I really wanted to go to one during my stay, but found it increasingly difficult to take the time to go to Brick Lane or simply to find someone who also wanted curry.
The next alternative was to find an Indian restaurant closer to Islington. I found one right in the back of Euston Station so it was a great location. It’s called Diwana and it’s a complete vegetarian Indian Restaurant. For Lunch, their buffet is only 6.95 pounds. We were so stuffed when we got out of there.
I really have no clue what I ate, but it was all very tasty. Some of the dishes they had were samosas, the spinach and cheese dish, tons of vegetable salads, creamy potatoes, and of course two types of naan. I wish I could name them all, but I don’t really know my Indian foods.
(At Chinese restaurants they give you fortune cookies. At Diwana they give you this. What is it?!)
The buffet is decently sized. It doesn’t look very big but they’re constantly on the lookout to refill plates that empty. When we went, there was a sizable lunchtime crowd and it seemed as if some people were regulars. Even though it wasn’t the Indian restaurant I wanted to go to, it satisfied my craving for naan nonetheless.

I know this post is over 2 years old, but I saw the question about the after-meal “dish” and I had to answer it. It’s basically a mix of fennel seeds, both raw and also covered in a candy-like coating. Some mixes will also have sugar cubes and other seeds as well. The mix acts as a breath freshener, and it’s also good for digestion, courtesy of the “juice” created from chewing the mix. Hope this answered your question! :-p
