At first glance, I thought this was Beard Papa’s. It has the same color, a similar logo, and it sells cream puffs! Barby’s however, is more of a bakery- they also sell Asian bread and pastries. The greatest thing about Barby’s, though, is that their cream puffs a. are cheaper and b. come in more flavors/varieties!
(It was such a shame having to throw the bag away)
I love the cute yellow bag that touts “Barby’s- puffs, donuts, & bakery.” On the back, it even gives you heating directions! At $1.50 a puff, I think I’m going to go back and try them whenever I’m on George Street (it’s by Chinatown). I was really craving something small and sweet so I was so excited when I saw the cream puffs. I got the Cookies Cream Puff. It must have been Oreo crumbs in the cream because it tasted like Cookies’n'Cream. The only critique I have of Barby’s is that unlike Beard Papa’s, they don’t pipe the cream into the puff in front of you; everything is premade. Also, my puff didn’t have as much cream as Beard Papa’s.
Nevertheless, I’m really excited to try their other flavors. I saw mocha, mango, green tea, coconut, etc… Seriously, who can resist that awesome puff of gooey goodness??

UPDATE* JULY 27
AH! The disappointment! I couldn’t resist trying another of Barby’s Cream Puffs when we passed by Chinatown last weekend. Jenny was dying to get one and after staring at the case-full of puffs, I just totally caved. I decided to try the Green-tea cream puff.
It took 3 (tiny) bites to actually get to the cream. Once I actually did get to the cream, I couldn’t distinguish it from the usual vanilla! I mean maybe there was a slight hint of matcha, but seriously, I was expecting a bang in the head of green-teaness.
This really makes me doubt some of their other flavors. Is it just food coloring and minimal flavoring? I guess I need to try another one to figure that out.

Jenny says your second one doesn’t look so hot.
