Americans take bagels for granted. At Costco, you can get 6 bagels for under $3. Along the streets of NYC, you can get a bagel with cream cheese for $1. At Starbucks, you can get a bagel for $.75. Yet, in Sydney, bagels with cream cheese go for over $4 and in London over 2 pounds!
Before we left for our walk from Bondi to Coogee, Angela realized she forgot to eat breakfast and at that moment, the light bulb in Jenny’s stomach must have lit up too. They chose the Great Bagel and Coffee Company because it looked the most legit out of all the other bagel shops on the street. The place offered a bagel with bacon and egg special + any type of regular coffee for $7.50 (I guess that’s a decent deal in Sydney) so Jenny jumped at that. Angela just stuck with her flavored cream cheese bagel which came out to around $4.50. Both of them inhaled their bagels.
I, on the other hand, stuck with my Cappuccino. Once again, another great cup. The quality is seriously something you can’t find in the US unless if you search for it. The guy used Equal (I asked for sweet to see what it’d taste like) and it had this bitter aftertaste so I don’t think I’ll be using it in the future. I never liked those sweeteners anyway.
