Sydney’s business district is gorgeous. Although the buildings may not be as tall as New York City, there’s something about the place that gives it such a refreshing look. We walked from the Opera House to Darling Harbor and on the way got really hungry. We were looking for something cheap and all of a sudden, we came across a strip of “restaurant stands” selling different types of food. It reminded me of Rockefeller Center, where the skating rink is below the street level. It was around noon, so lots of business people were eating there lunches outside.
There were many selections, from BBQ to Kebabs to Thai, but in the end, Angela, Jenny and I decided on Pronto Cafe because it was the cheapest. We ordered a medium to go and they had a selection of carbonara, Italian sausage bake, paella, chicken casserole, pasta bolognaise, etc… I chose half paella and half Italian sausage bake. The paella was really soggy, but then again, I didn’t expect a 5 star quality paella coming from a grab and go place. The Italian sausage bake was amazing- actually their sausage was amazing, but either way, it made a good leftover breakfast this morning.
So, for $7.90, we got a decent sized meal (I only finished the paella) and two pieces of garlic bread. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s pretty decent for what I’ve seen so far.
