I’ve been tutoring essentially every night for the past 2 months or so. Each Wednesday night, I grudgingly make my way to Central Station while I watch everyone else march down to Coogee in anticipation of their $4 steak. Well, I’ve finally been given a break- no more tutoring! So here I come Wednesday night steak!
The Coogee Beach Palace Hotel offers this awesome deal each Wednesday night. Buy a $4 drink (red wine, white wine, or Pure Blonde beer) and you get your free 300g steak. Add $2, and you can even get chips and salad with it. Chips here are ridiculously amazing, so it’s hard to forego that offer.
You do, however, need to arrive early. The offer starts at 5pm and the line really begins picking up around 5:30ish. I’ve also heard that the quality the meal is negatively correlated as the night wears on. Luckily, we were among the first 10 in line, so my steak was well cooked (a little bit burned), but nevertheless worth it.
I also love the simplicity of their mesclun greens. All they do is drizzle some olive oil based salad dressing, but it hits the spot. Their wines, on the other hand, aren’t exactly great, but they’ll do, considering how cheap the whole meal is.
I can’t wait for Wednesdays now!

that is an AMAZING deal…I’m quite jealous of you right now. There is a bar in NYC that gives you a free personal pan pizza for every drink you buy, but steak > pizza.
