Ah, the historical Rocks! On the weekends, there’s this awesome market, which is quite unaffordable, but still very interesting all the same. There’s a man who sells chocolate covered strawberries at $2.50 a piece or 3 on a stick for $6. Anyway, I digress. One weekend, after Angela and I wandered around the market, we got hungry and found The Rocks Cafe.
I love Al Fresco dining. Surprisingly, there weren’t too many people so we were able to easily land a seat outside. They offer your traditional breakfast foods and since I was in the mood for something sweet, I ordered their pancakes. Now get this- they serve it with bacon, ba-na-na, and maple syrup. For those of you that have never tried this combination, I highly recommend it. I mean, nothing was special about the pancakes, although they were delightfully fluffy. And the cream! Oh man, I love real, fresh cream. None of that Redi-whip shiz.
Angela got the eggs benedict (not the royal one). I’ve never been a big fan of the dish, but I had a bite and the hollandaise sauce was surprisingly good!
My only complaint about this place is that the prices do tend to run a bit steep. My dish was more expensive than Pancakes on the Rocks at $13 a plate. They also do charge a service fee so beware of that. Otherwise, the food is quite “yum.”
