Yogurtland (and how I ate 1.68lb of fro-yo)

by Jessie on April 22, 2009

Don’t tell me that doesn’t look good (and healthy!). Mounds of fruit piled on even more mounds of frozen yogurt. But wait, you can’t even see how large/long this container is!

(Pooja’s hand still covering how long the container is…)

Tonight, a bunch of us Sternies headed over to Yogurtland for some unlimited frozen yogurt, aka, fro-yo. When I say unlimited, I really do mean unlimited. I don’t even know how our Cohort had so much money left over considering how we did a Knicks Game and a nice dinner during the semester. I think we had something in the area of $400 to spend amongst like 10 of us. That’s like $40 per person! At .39 per ounce, that’s an insane amount of yogurt!

Obviously, not one to eat in moderation especially when it’s on Stern’s tab, I loaded that thing up. I ran to every machine and got most of the flavors. I cranked and swirled until I realized that I still had strawberry and blueberry left to go but I was already at the top. So, I had to sacrifice strawberry and instead got bluebery. And then, I went to the toppings section and loaded that thing up with fruit.

You see that up there? That’s 1.68 POUNDS OF FROZEN YOGURT! and I ended up eating most of it!! But supposedly, air is an important ingredient in fro-yo, so… maybe I didn’t consume that much? Ugh, who am I kidding?!

A word/list to the wise.

  1. Layer your toppings. As in, go get toppings, then yogurt, then toppings, then yogurt. Repeat many times
  2. Get your favorite flavors first. I love Pistachio, but since it was on the bottom, by the time I got down there, I was about to die of fro-yo overload
  3. Don’t let your strangers’ looks intimate you

(See, now they had massive containers too…)

(Look, it’s AKPsi + Anna!)

(And Shantannu is there to pick up the scraps)

Some Flavors: NY Cheesecake, Blueberry, Strawberry, Plain, Green Tea, Taro, Pineapple, Lychee, Pistachio, Cookies & Cream, Mango, Peach, etc…
