Wafels and Dinges

Okay, so I haven’t kept my promise of daily updates, but that’s because I’ve been busy arranging for my move to the West Coast. But here I am! So hopefully I’ll get up all of my old posts up in no time and maybe add a new section onto the blog (Los Angeles)?

A few weeks ago, Steph spotted the truck outside Palladium. Honestly, I never heard of the waffle truck until she told me about it, but we both had the same reaction when she finally found the truck- go and eat before it disappeared!

According to dictionary.com…

  • dinge – make a dent or impression in; “dinge a soft hat”
  • dinge – make dingy
  • dinge – dinginess: discoloration due to dirtiness

Obviously not the definition I was looking for. But I must have been blind because it’s defined on the menu for you. A “dinge” is Belgian for “toppings.” If you go onto their website, you can enter into their “dinge” contest where they pick a person each week who’ll become the lucky recipient of free waffles!

I wasn’t hungry much, but I couldn’t resist the LEIGE waffle that Petite Abeille nicked me of. I really love how cheap the waffles are and how they have smaller portions! I went with the Mini Wafelini, which is a waffle capable of being eaten in 3 bites, strewn on a stick, and garnished with 2 strawberries. So yummy!

Stephanie went for the normal sized waffle. I think she was satisfied even though she got it plain. It does come with cinnamon and powdered sugar though.

Oh, and just in case if you were wondering, according to the Albany Insitution, “Wafel” is dutch for the waffle.
