Crocodile Cafe

by Jessie on June 29, 2009

The original plan was to meet up somewhere in Westwood for lunch, but somehow Slo managed to convince us to make the trek out to Pasadena. According to Slo, that’s where all the “real food’s” at, and so how could we object?

I’m not a big advocate of chains, but there are just some that you have to go to, especially if they only exist on the West Coast. Slo suggested Crocodile Cafe and she swore by their salads, but I wasn’t going to skimp out. Heck, if I’m going to be leaving within a few days, I’m going all out- that is, with a burger.

But there were just so many choices! I came close to ordering the Kobe Cheese and the Ahi Tuna, but in the end, I succumbed to the bacon. The Ranch House is angus beef topped with Jack, BBQ sauce, bacon, and the works. It looked and tasted satisfyingly delicious.

But I think my favorite was the fries. They were lightly seasoned with a cajun/spicy seasoning and you can even request how you want your fries to be cooked!

And while Suzie and I had no shame in demolishing our pile of greasy goodness, Slo got herself the Blue Corn Tostada Salad. The vinegrette dressing is delicious, but still- don’t expect it to beat the burger with the bacon.

Even though it’s a chain, the service is impeccable. We were greeted literally within 10 seconds and our food came out within 10 minutes. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re ever on the West Coast.
