That's actually what the electric ones are like, at least according to my mom. As long as the pot can heat up to a boil, it's essentially the same thing. However, my mom mentioned to me that the reason why their hotpot was so expensive is because of the protruding cone looking thing in the middle. "It makes you feel like you're having hotpot because you have to swirl it around 360." Haha, but whatever floats your boat! Yep!
